After several renovations and conversions, the Salesianum building complex is to be completely renovated and restored to its original state. The premises will accommodate residential uses and serve as a home for several families. The St. Karl Chapel and some of the rooms in the central building will also be made accessible to the public in accordance with the concept presented. Alberich Zwyssig, a Cistercian monk, composer and bandmaster, wrote the Swiss psalm, today's national anthem of Switzerland, during his time in the St. Karlshof in the St. Karl Chapel in 1841.
The new owner acquired the "Pension Villa Maria" property on Haldenstrasse Lucerne at the beginning of 2020, with the intention of continuing the existing activities as a guesthouse for local and international tourists. At the same time, the owner of the house intends to use the rooms on the ground floor as an apartment for the family that runs the pension as their own residence. The existing guest rooms on the upper floors are being renovated so that each unit has its own bathroom. The attic is being rebuilt for a new lounge with a new copper dormer window with a roof terrace.
